ORIGIN, RULES AND REGULATIONS, AND STANDARDS

SECTION 1

The Origin Of Word Of Faith Holiness Fellowship

Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship was founded by Ryan Hicks in March of 1998. Its sole purpose is to train up and ordain ministers for the kingdom of God. All members are there to help other believers work out their own salvation and restore those who have fallen away from the faith once delivered unto the saints (Jude 3). May God be glorified by all that Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship accomplishes for His Kingdom. "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing" (Revelation 5:12).

SECTION 2

The General Rules

The following rules are binding upon all members of Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship. These rules are found here for guidance for the minister in the right ways of the Lord.

1.      "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:14-22).

2.      "It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will" (2 Timothy 2:11-26).

3.      "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God" (1 John 4:7).

4.      "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears" (Hebrews 12:14-17).

5.      "The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world" (1 Peter 5:1-9).

6.      "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

7.      "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine" (2
Timothy 4:2).

8.      A minister must be "the husband of one wife" for men (1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:6), or "having been the wife of one man" for women (1 Timothy 5:9). If divorced, one must refuse to get remarried, for the Bible calls remarriage the sin of adultery. The unmarried must refuse to marry one that has been divorced, no matter what the reason was for divorce, for remarriage is adultery (Matthew 5:32; 19:3-12; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18). The only individuals biblically allowed to remarry and stay in God's grace are widows (1 Corinthians 7:8-9). Marriage is only ended by the death of a spouse (Romans 7:2-3; 1 Corinthians 7:39).

9.      "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee" (1 Timothy 4:1-16).

10.  "Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions, and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Timothy 6:1-14).

11.  "Abstain from all appearance of evil" (2 Thessalonians 5:22). This includes smoking, drinking alcohol, secular television, secular movies, secular Internet sites, any form of entertainment that does not exalt God including all sports, dancing, and anything that does not bring one to a greater love and knowledge of God, and anything that can foster leniency toward sin.

12.  "Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith" (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2).

13.  Use the Bible in the English language, the King James Bible (KJB). All other English versions are forbidden to be used in teaching and instruction. If the minister and his hearers use other languages, the most accurate version in that language must be used. If all versions in that language are questionable, then a minister learned in the Greek and Hebrew and in the language in question should humbly consider making a suitable translation in that language for God's people. Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship will help out in such endeavors financially, prayerfully, and intellectually by alerting other Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship ministers of the need.

A member who fails to meet God's standards as outlined in the word of God for a minister and a child of God shall be excommunicated immediately if they refuse to repent and be converted back to the Lord.

SECTION 3

Doctrinal Statement

1.      The Godhead - There are not three essences (Tritheistic heresy) or only one being (Oneness or Modalistic heresy) in the Godhead. The Godhead consists of Three Divine Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) in perfect unity (Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7; etc.). Each of these Persons is coequal, co-eternal, and are God (John 1:1-3; Acts 5:3-4; 1 John 5:7; 2 John 3; etc.). While there are Three separate and distinct Members of the Godhead each fully God, they are one in essence and make up the one God, that is one in essence or substance (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7).

2.      The Scriptures - The Scriptures (66 books of the Bible) are inspired of God, and are the final court of appeals for all matters of doctrine and practice. The rule of interpretation is to always take the Bible literally where it is at all possible; if figurative or symbolic language is used, one should look for the literal meaning it intends to convey (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Revelation 22:18-19).

3.      The Fall of Man – All men are made innocent and upright (Ecclesiastes 7:29). Through man's free will he chose to sin, thus incurring the full penalty of the broken law, the loss of eternal life and eternal damnation. Man is damned for their own personal sins should they refuse to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The guilt and damnation of Adam’s original sin rests solely upon Adam and not upon his descendants (Genesis 3:1-7; Ecclesiastes 7:29; Ezekiel 18:20; John 3:16-18; Romans 3:23; 5:12-21).

4.      Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is God Almighty. He was and is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:1-14; 1 Timothy 3:16). He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, died for man's sins on the cross, shed His blood for remission of sins (Mark 14:24; Acts 20:28; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:14), was buried, rose again bodily by the power of God on the third full day, bodily ascended on high, now is bodily seated at the right hand of God the Father, and will return bodily (Matthew 1:18-23; Mark 16:19; Luke 1:30-35; John 19:38-20:18; Acts 1:9-11; 2:22-36; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; 1 Timothy 3:16).

5.      Salvation - God has purchased the full salvation of man (body, soul, and spirit) through the death of His Son on the cross. Salvation is offered to all, and all may receive it through faith in the Son of God. This salvation is universal in the truth that it is offered to all, but is limited in the truth that only a few choose to accept it (Matthew 7:13-14; 20:16; 22:14; John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:4; Titus 2:11; 2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 22:17). Through this salvation man is free from all sin, and given the power to live clean in this world (Matthew 18:3; Luke 13:3, 5; John 3:3-7; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 5:24; Ephesians 2:8-10; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 John 3:6-10).

6.      Sanctification - Sanctification means a separation from a life of sin and wickedness to a life of holiness. All truly born-again believers are sanctified in some degree, but they are not wholly sanctified or made perfect in love. A believer can seek God and receive whole sanctification by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, such is an instantaneous work of God in the believer who acts in faith. This whole or entire sanctification is part of the complete salvation Christ purchased for us on the cross! (Acts 20:32; 26:18; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 6:11; 2 Timothy 2:19-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Hebrews 2:11; 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:2; Jude 1)

7.      Holiness - Holiness is God's requirement for the saved. All who are truly saved will live a lifestyle of holiness before both God and man (Micah 6:8; Matthew 5:48; 7:21; Luke 22:24; Acts 10:35; Romans 6:22-23; 1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 John 2:3-5; 5:18; Jude 21; Revelation 21:7-8).

8.      Hell - All have sinned (Romans 3:23) and are destined for eternal torment in hell. Only through salvation can one escape such punishment. Those who sin and fail to repent and forsake their sins will spend eternity apart from God in eternal torment. Hell is a literal place of fire and brimstone, and is the eternal home of the damned (Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8).

9.      Power from on high - The power from on high is for all born-again believers to receive, and is initially evidenced by speaking in other tongues and the continued evidence is the power to be witnesses for Christ. A believer that has been endued with this power can do the works of Christ and even greater works with all the gifts of the Spirit. These gifts will not cease until we are made perfect by Christ at the resurrection as is seen in 1 Corinthians 13:10. Believers are to be wary of any "gift" that would cause one to be more focused on the gift than the Giver of the gift, the Holy Spirit. They also should avoid flaunting spiritual gifts for this is rebellious and devilish (Isaiah 28:11-12; John 7:37-39; 14:12; Acts 1:4-5, 8; 2:4, 32-33, 38-39; 5:32; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; 11:15-16; 19:1-7).

10.  The Rapture of the Church - The rapture of the church takes place before the tribulation period and the revealing of the antichrist, which is seven years before the literal Millennial reign of Christ on earth before His eternal reign on earth. No one who is born-again and living a life of holiness, as any truly born-again person does live, will have to go through the tribulation period. Jesus even taught for His saints to "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man" (Luke 21:36) proving that believers will escape the coming judgment on the world. Paul taught that "God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thessalonians 5:9) which also shows that believers will not have to go through the tribulation period (Luke 21:36; John 14:2-3; 1 Corinthians 15:23, 51-58; Ephesians 5:27; Philippians 3:11, 20-21; Colossians 3:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:19; 3:13; 4:13-18; 5:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:1, 6-8; James 5:7-8; 1 Peter 5:4; 1 John 2:28; 3:2; Revelation 1:19).

CHAPTER 2

MINISTERS AND CHURCH OFFICES

SECTION 1

The Biblical Way To Determine If One Is Called To Minister For God

While it is true that all believers are called to preach the gospel, not all are called to be ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15). All believers can minister His gospel to others in various aspects, but only the called minister of God can be able to minister it continually and encourage believers in the faith on a regular basis.

The Biblical way to determine if one is called to minister for God is to:

1.      Determine that they are truly born-again according to John 3:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 6:6-7; 1 John 3:1-10; 4:7; etc.

2.      Determine that they manifest the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 17:15-20; Mark 16:16-18; John 15:2; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12-14).

3.      Determine that they are living a life of holiness as any true child of God does (Matthew 5:48; John 14:15; Hebrew 12:14; 1 John 2:29; 5:18).

4.      Determine that they desire the work of the ministry (1 Timothy 3:1).

5.      Determine that their life centers around the Lord and the things of the Lord.

6.      Determine that they have studied to show themselves approved unto God, and that they refuse to compromise on the word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

7.      Determine that they hate sin and that they avoid anything that could lead to sin (1 Thessalonians 5:22).

It is assumed that if such determinations can be made upon a child of God that they are called of God to be His ministers. What exact ministry (evangelist, pastor, prophet, teacher, etc.) they are called to fill can only be truly determined by their own personal leading by God and the confirmation of a fruitful ministry in that area.

SECTION 2

The Election Of One To A Ministerial Office

One can be recommended to be licensed in a ministerial office by a member or another brother or sister in Christ. All such recommendations are taken seriously and prayer and fasting will be devoted to the final decision in such a matter. It is solely the prerogative of the Bishop, the Presiding Elder, and others chosen for such a task to decide upon these matters. The will of the Lord will always be sought in order to continually be in His Holy Will.

SECTION 3

The Licensing And Ordination Of Ministers

Licensing is the probationary period for ministers awaiting ordination. The probationary period will be a total of six full months from the date of licensing. If it is determined by the Judicial Council that the licensee is indeed called and chosen by God to their particular ministry, they will then proceed with ordaining that minister.

The probationary period is offered so that the minister may prove that he is worthy of the high calling of a minister. The licensing and ordination process is not to stamp man's approval on a minister, rather it is to recognize God's stamp of approval on a minister.

The Licensing and Ordination ceremony will consist of at least two ministers laying hands on the licensee/ordainee in a faith-filled prayer of consecration to the Lord. No set prayer is given, but the leading of the Holy Spirit should provide the best prayer for each individual. If two ministers cannot be found in the licensee/ordainee's area other suitable arrangements will be made by the Judicial Council immediately.

CHAPTER 3

ADMINISTRATION OF DISCIPLINE

SECTION 1

The Judicial Council And Its Powers

The Judicial Council is made up of the Bishop and Presiding Elder of Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship and three other believers (inside or outside the Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship). All major decisions shall be decided by the Judicial Council's vote. A majority vote of the Judicial Council is necessary to pass any major decision. All minor decisions will be delegated to various ministers chosen by the Judicial Council when needed.

Anytime a Judicial Council member is charged with wrongdoing a full investigation will be done provided that the remaining members of the Judicial Council reach a unanimous vote to proceed with an investigation. If such wrongdoing is found out to be true the remaining Judicial Council members will be at their own discretion on how to punish. If such wrongdoing is deemed worthy, a vote will be taken to excommunicate. In such a case a unanimous vote is needed to pass "Articles of Excommunication." No appeal is granted in such cases. Any excommunicated Judicial Council member can be reinstated under Chapter 3, Section 2, but can never be reinstated to membership on the Judicial Council unless it is determined the excommunication was in error.

SECTION 2

Excommunication

The Judicial Council has the sole power to try and convict any member of Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship. A majority vote will determine whether or not a minister is excommunicated, but the Bishop can at any time excommunicate a member if he deems it immediately necessary to the holiness and unity of the body of Christ. If the member appeals in such a case the Bishop's excommunication can be overturned by a majority vote by the Judicial Council or confirmed by a majority vote by the Judicial Council. No appeal is granted to any individual excommunicated by a majority vote of the Judicial Council unless the Judicial Council deems such an appeal as necessary.

The Judicial Council will furnish the member being excommunicated with "Articles of Excommunication" thoroughly stating the Council's reason for excommunication and each Council member's vote on the articles. The "Articles of Excommunication" will include qualifications that must be met before one can be reinstated (if they are allowed to be reinstated). A period of time will be stated in the "Articles of Excommunication" before an excommunicated member can reapply for membership. The provisions for reinstating an excommunicated member can be found in Chapter 3, Section 3.

SECTION 3

Reinstating An Excommunicated Member

An excommunicated member can be reinstated to Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship after the time set by the Judicial Council in the members "Articles of Excommunication." Reinstatement will be granted if the qualifications for reinstatement as set in the "Articles of Excommunication" are met. All reinstatements to membership in Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship must pass a majority vote of the Judicial Council. If a request for reinstatement fails updated "Articles of Excommunication" will be issued with a new time period set and possibly new qualifications for reinstatement. In some cases the Judicial Council may rule to permanently excommunicate an individual from Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship A permanent excommunication must pass a unanimous vote by the Judicial Council. There are no appeals for a permanent excommunication.

CHAPTER 4

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SECTION 1

Members Of The Board Of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of the Bishop, the Presiding Elder, and others voted in by the Judicial Council.

SECTION 2

The Board Of Directors' Power And Jurisdiction

The Board of Directors makes the major business decisions for the fellowship, while the Judicial Council makes the majority of the governing and discipline related decisions. At any given time the Judicial Council has full control over Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship and can overrule any decisions made by the Board of Directors or various leaders in Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship by a unanimous vote. Any Judicial Council members directly involved in the decision to be voted against will not be allowed to vote on this issue, except for the Bishop and Presiding Elder who take active roles in most of the operation of Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship.

SECTION 3

The Excommunication of Board Members

The same procedures as followed by the Judicial Council in Chapter 3, Section 1, apply to the Board of Directors. If the accused Board member is also on the Judicial Council the remaining Judicial Council members will proceed with the procedure.

CHAPTER 5

THE RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS

SECTION 1

The Freedom To Resign

Any member of Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship is free to resign from membership in the fellowship at any time. Judicial Council and Board members are also free to resign, but a vote must be taken to replace the resigning member if it is deemed necessary by the Judicial Council. A member may reapply for membership after resignation, but they must be approved by a unanimous vote by the Judicial Council.

CHAPTER 6

SECTION 1

Ownership Of Church Property

The ownership of church property lies solely in the one possessing ownership rights. If property owned by Word of Faith Holiness Fellowship is given to a member/or member's church they then possess sole ownership of that property.
